Built for Etobicoke Yacht Club, Toronto as "Marie Curtis". Used as comittee/work boat. Purchased by Matthews Marine, Port Dover, 2000. We purchased in June 2000, hauled home, rebuilt/new cabins/interior
etc. Relaunched as "CAPER" in Aug 2003. All steel 20500 pounds finished displacement.
Hull design R.C. Johnson N.A.. Donna says its a work boat "cause I've done nothing but work on it since I bought it,"
What other boat festivals have you attended?: Great Tug Boat Race, Soo. Ont. as crew in 2000 and as participant in 2005 with "CAPER".

Russel built, vessel was purchased March 7 2003, hull number 687. It was launched Dec. 20, 1946 as the Coulonge. It took 4 years to rebuild and still going. The name was changed in the late '80's to Compass Rose VI. RUSSEL ARCHIVE PAGE

Russel 1960. Home Port: Penetang. Built for the Canadian Government as Coast Guard research vessel Ville Marie. It was sold in 1985 to Heaven Bound Ministry from whom we purchased her 13 years ago. We have been refitting and upgrading as an ongoing project.

PANKHURST M Norm Meneray |

Currently an Owen Sound boat, Pankhurst M was built in Burlington as a work tug for Ont. Hydro "Hydro Nanabush". She worked in Little Current for 25 years and then was sold to Sudbury. Norm bought her in 1994 and totally refurbished her. Used mostly for pleasure she does the occasional charter or tow.

MINK ISLE Bob & Sandra Parr |

Russel 1947 (ex Brompton Duchess). Home Port: Snug Harbour. Used on Lake Superior as a work tug. In 1986 Bob found her in terible condition sitting on a barge in Sault Ste. Marie. Extensive renovations include a new Cat. diesel engine.

CAMBRIAN Jack Kennedy |

Built at the Gamble Shipyards in Port Dover, she was used as a fish tug on Lake Superior in Rossport until 1956. In Thunder bay and the Soo between '56 and '84, she was purchased by Jack and taken to Parry Sound. He raised the cabin but wanted to keep her original lines.

GRAND BANKS II Paul Groves |

Built in Port Maitland in 1966, originally used in Toronto harbour. Moved to the Soo and used by Fisheries and oceans. Sold in 1981 as Crown Assets to Paul who changed the engine and generator, and uses her mostly for pleasure.

BALEEN Joe & Phillis Allgrove |

Built by Matheson (Goderich, 1950's). Vessel was originally used as Fish Tug (Tobermory, Southampton and Lake Erie). Joe kept the turtle on and took advantage of the extra living space. The interior is well laid out with bunks for six. Joe has done an superb job of the interior, using pine and mahogany. |

Home Port: Owen Sound. Built in 1945 by a Hamilton construction company as a supply boat under the name Sandpiper. Was brought to Owen Sound in the early 1950's by Edgar Taylor. Present owner purchased the hull in '94 and carried out a refit to current condition. In '99 vessel was renamed RED WING after an old fiddle tune by the same name. Currently moored at the Georgian Yacht Club in Owen Sound and used as a pleasure cruiser on Georgian Bay. |

Home Port: Owen Sound. Original Builder & Build Date: Goodreau, Tilbury Ontario 1963. A 36 ft aft cabin command bridge semi displacement pleasure vessel. All steel except for bridge which is aluminum. Vessel under same ownership for 31 years.

Home Port: Parry Sound, On. Vessel Original Builder & Build Date: Goodreau 1964. I bought her in 1974 & her name was the "JanRuss". Rebuilt her in 1999, added a hard top and redid the interior. Renamed her the ORA M.
