Russel Brothers Limited OWEN SOUND, ONTARIO Steelcraft Boat Builders
Unidentified Russel Boats
Cornwall, ON. Unidentified workboat at Cornwall, possibly Russel built, probably owned by Westfront Construction in Cornwall. Matthew Carlson comments (Jan. 4, 2020): "Don’t think it’s a Russel, maybe a Maffey or a homemade boat based on the Russel design. If it’s a Russel it looks like it would be a very early one. 4-71 Detroit engine." |

The flow at the Saunders-Moses Generating Station at Cornwall/Massena is at a record high level of 10,800 Cubic Metres per Second in order to bring down the destructive levels on Lake Ontario. That has had the immediate effect of drastically lowering the level in Lake St. Lawrence. The picture was taken Jan 3, 2020 in Lake St. Lawrence about 16km/10 Mi upstream of the Generating Station. The scow is actually tethered to the tree to keep it from floating away.
