Unidentified Russel Boats

Beardmore, ON. Matthew Carlson comments (July 5, 2018): "I did get a couple names but haven't been able to get a hold of the current owner (number not working) but I was talking to a previous owner of it. He said his dad bought the boat many years ago when it was used on Lake Nipigon, he took the 4-53 Detroit Diesel engine out of it and installed it in their 40ft charter boat, then gave the hull to Nolan Cox of beardmore. I guess Nolan planted it in his old gas station property and it was used as a sign to advertise the guys that have the charter boats. I've read that Nolan Cox passed away in 2009 and I have been trying to get a hold of his wife to see if she would sell the hull but no luck yet. It's hard to say for sure what this boat did but based on the style (very simular design to the old Babikan, perhaps a sister boat being from the same area) it looks like it may have been used as like a boom pointer boat or maybe for fishing. There's no sign of a winch being in it at any time. These 2 pictures were taken a couple weeks ago by my brother Kenneth Carlson."
