In 1944 she was built for the Royal Canadian Navy. She was employed in boom defence at Sydney NS. In 1946 she was sold to Foundation Maritime Ltd., Halifax, NS. In 1948 she was sold to McNamara Construction St. Leaside, ON. In 1982 the name of McNamara Construction Ltd. Changed to Kesmark Construction Ltd. In 1983 she was sold to Cartier Construction Corporation, Montreal, QC. She was later sold to Harry Gamble, Port Dover, ON.

For sale in Toronto, Sept. 1948. Interesting that the WAC was selling Martinville in Aug. 1947, Foundation Maritime bought it, and in April 1948 they had it repainted, rebuilt and renamed FOUNDATION JOAN, and it was back on the market 5 months after that.
