Hull 881. Earl R. Apparently never registered commercially. Coast Guard License 38E 246. Built at Owen Sound In 1950. 15'5 x 8'1 x 4'5; 4 g.t.; 3 n.t.; 100 hp. "Sluicer": A very small logging tug, similar to Orville. Owned by The Great Lakes Paper Company, Fort William, ON until 1965 when their River Drive operation ended. RBF notes: Earl R. was named after Earl Rowe, who was the President of "The Great Lakes Paper Company" from 1938 to 1955. Later, was likely sold to Buchanan's Hudson Mill.
The "Earl R." boom boat that was owned by the Great Lakes Paper Company. She worked on the Kam River pushing logs to the Jack Ladder near Mosquito Creek. Earl R. at Lac Seul, Kenora District, Ontario, Sept. 15, 2019. Was likely sold to Buchanan's Hudson Mill. Lac Seul is a large, crescent shaped reservoir in Kenora District, close to Ear Falls in northwestern Ontario, Canada.

Finding and checking out a 1950 built small Pond Tug boat. Built by Russel Brothers in Owen Sound, ON and used by Great Lakes Paper Company in Fort William, ON at their Mill on the Kam River till 1965 when the River Drives ended. She somehow ended up way up North and now sits high and dry!
