John Purificati posted this in the Historic Northern Ontario Facebook group in Aug. 2017. Boat identified as Dumoine by John Pomeroy. Mattawa. Wonderful postcard photo of a tugboat on the Ottawa River. Credit: Vintage Postcards. Normand Champagne commented “It was on the other side of Valois' Motel that is on the highway. There was a dirt road that went down to the Ottawa River, where the loader would load the trucks up from the water. This is below LaCav, Beauchene worked the Ottawa river above LaCav until the early 80's. I remember as a child, in the early 1970s, my father driving his 18 wheeler close to the Ottawa river, near where that tug boat is, the tug boat would pill the logs together and a big crane would load it on his trailer from the water. I thought that was the coolest thing I had ever seen."
