Owned by Mrs. Adam McLeod, 108 South Algoma St., Port Arthur. n.b. - The registered owner was misspelled on the registry entry. It should have been ALMA MCLEOD, and the boat named ALMA.
Jenet Vlotaros (daughter of Angus "Buddy" McLeod and his partner Edna) comments (Dec. 2018): "The photo is the "Nipigon Clipper" (ex Bustard Clipper, foreground) tied up beside the "Alma" also a Russel Brothers tug...originally owned by Mrs. Alma McLeod and handed down to her son Kenny McLeod after her passing. The proper name of the original owner was Mrs. Alma McLeod...they likely misspelled her name on the registry." Jenet confirms (Jan. 28, 2019): The Alma Marie is the rebuilt Alma. It now belongs to Dennis Lesperance on Lake Nipigon. Jerry Adams also owns another Russel boat that previously was owned by the MNR. |
Jenet Vlotaros (daughter of Angus "Buddy" McLeod and his partner Edna, first owners of Bluefin) comments (Dec. Alma McLeod...they likely misspelled her name on the registry. There never was an Adam McLeod. This is the Clipper when Dad had her...photo approx 1969 or 70. Tied up on the far side is the Alma....originally owned by Mrs. Alma McLeod....fished by her Husband Allan McLeod and Kenny McLeod after his parents passed. Jerry Adams owned her after Kenny's passing. Jerry was married to Alma M. McLeod (Alma Debrah Marie McLeod, Kenny's daughter). I think she was sold to someone on Lake Nipigon. Possibly Dennis Lesperance."
For sale 2005. Robert B. Farrow Collection.
